The Page

I bet you were waiting for me to write about The Page!

This is The Page page. Get it??

Well get this. Some bars are like an uncomfortable pair of slacks. They’re restrictive, awkward, and impossible to relax in.

The Page is your favorite pair of jeans. They’re familiar, reliable, and perfectly broken in.

This is an old school SF dive in the best sense. Leather arm chairs, very strange things on the wall, strong pours, cash only, and best of all, the quiet understanding that whatever you planned afterward may no longer be happening.

Outside you can find some live music from time to time. When the weather behaves you might even enjoy a parklet beer in the sun while cyclists fly down the hill from Upper Haight. Inside you’ll find plenty of tables for you and your friends. There’s also more space downstairs in the back for an intimate date night convo.

They had a pool table at one point. I think it got COVID and never returned.

Go early if you want a seat. Once the room fills, it really fills. That’s when The Page becomes less of a bar and more of a shared agreement that nobody needs to leave yet.

Start your night here, end your night here. Do both! Go Nuts!
