It took me too long to find this absolute hidden gem oasis in Outer Mission. The Royal Cuckoo is everything. A funky dive that has live music 7 nights a week? A date spot? A place for groups? A place with good vibes, good bartenders, good drinks, and good pours? Oh, and it has a back patio?

Yes, to everything.

Don’t care where you live in the city, this is where X marks the spot.

  • Early evening til close. Date spot, night out with the squad. First spot or last of the night, the time is always right.

Energy

  • Live music all week, great jazz musicians and singers. Vinyls, and an organist. GOOD music.

  • Back patio is nice and cozy, open all night as well

  • Gets crowded during peak hours of the night, get comfortable with thy neighbor

  • No Food (outside food allowed)

  • No TVs

Best Drink

  • Great cocktails - changes from time to time, they usually have a hot apple cider or some new concoction they’re working on

  • The Cuckoovardier - 100 proof barrel aged whiskey drink. Plenty of other signature drinks, they have what you need.
