Stookey’s

Some bars make you feel like you accidentally walked into someone else’s birthday party. Stookey’s makes you feel like you accidentally walked into 1937.

Tucked away in Lower Nob Hill, Stookey’s has somehow managed to be classy without making you feel underdressed. That’s a difficult thing to pull off. When I go here, I feel as though I am in a black and white movie.

Perhaps that was the martini.

This is one of my favorite date spots in the city. It feels romantic without trying too hard. If the date goes well, fantastic. If it doesn’t, at least you had a really good cocktail.

When you’re done, walk next door and listen to some jazz. Congratulations, you accidentally became interesting.

Unique and entirely itself.
