Howell’s
Finally.
A Marina bar that doesn’t feel like a Marina bar. Now this is a Good Bar.
Howell’s quietly hangs out in the middle of Chestnut Street while the rest of the neighborhood is busy yelling over itself.
Wine and Beer only.
That’s enough. Don’t get greedy.
It’s one of the easier places in the Marina to actually have a conversation, which is probably why I keep ending up here. I love it on a quiet Sunday afternoon where we have the bar to ourselves, and I love it just as much on a crowded Friday night.
I’ve been here on first dates, birthdays, and random Tuesdays when nobody wanted to think too hard. It worked every time.
Sneaky amount of room for groups. Reserve the balcony or back patio for an event, sit at the bar, sit outside for all I care.
They also make homemade cookies.
Nobody talks about the cookies.
They should. My future stomach ache talks about them all the time.
There’s a back patio too. I have never made it back there because I am too lazy to walk down the hall way. I imagine it’s cool.
Certified Good Bar.
